“Amidst the covid-19 quarantine, a young woman makes video calls with three different women under suspicious pretexts. Always introducing herself through different personas, she seeks to unveil a secret that connects them all, each isolated in their homes.”

“I am her daughter” came about when Aron & Daniel, in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic, got online and had the idea to do a film using the pandemic as a backdrop. The only goal was to write a script that would also work if the characters weren’t in quarantine. So they put their hearts and minds together and we wrote “I am her daughter”: a film about a young woman who discovers who her father is and, in the process of doing so, get to know her step-sisters as a way to know who her father was as a father. Her ultimate goal is to let her biological father know that her mother has passed away… and that she doesn’t want anything to do with him. The short-film is starred by a talented group of actresses who embodied this broken family. Stefani Mota (“Irmãos Freitas”) is the main star, playing three different characters. Joana Dória (“(re)começo”), Manuela Afonso (“(re)começo”) and Sofia Boito (“JAZ”) play the sisters and the award-winning theatre actor Ney Piacentini plays the father.
